The Chicago Design Challenge is a partnership between A Better Chicago, The Chicago Public Education Fund, the University of Chicago Education Lab, Chicago Public Schools, and the City of Chicago.

A Better Chicago

A Better Chicago will serve as the grant-maker and lead fundraiser for this challenge and will manage the application, vetting, and award process as well as serve as the primary relationship manager for grantees.

The Chicago Public Education Fund

The Chicago Public Education Fund will lend its experience in supporting youth-centered innovation to assist prospective grantees, especially those who hope to work in partnership with educators in schools.

University of Chicago Education Labs

UChicago Education Lab will serve as an advisor during the selection process and provide strategic data analysis and technical support on data and research to grantees and core partners during the design phase and implementation.

Chicago Public Schools

Chicago Public Schools will serve as the key partner on issue prioritization and will ensure alignment between the challenge and other district initiatives and system-wide work.

City of Chicago

The City of Chicago will serve as a key partner on issue prioritization and stakeholder alignment and will support and advise on the eventual adoption of successful interventions.
