About
Chicago HOPES for Kids provides educational, enrichment, and mentoring support for children living in Chicago’s homeless shelters.
Why We Invested
Chicago HOPES has a successful track record and long history of supporting youth experiencing homelessness – a particularly vulnerable, difficult-to-engage population with unique needs. Studies have shown that youth experiencing homelessness suffer detrimental impacts to both academic and social-emotional outcomes. Evidence suggests that Chicago HOPES for Kids is successful in closing the academic gap to grade level for students experiencing homelessness.
Looking Ahead
Chicago HOPES for Kids plans to serve 120 middle school youth beginning in the fall of 2021 and seeks to continue growing its reach year over year.
