About

Saga Education is a national leader in high-impact, in-school math tutoring dedicated to improving academic outcomes for students in under-resourced communities. Founded in 2014 in Chicago and Boston, Saga pioneered a proven high-intensity tutoring model embedded into the school day, primarily serving 9th and 10th graders and increasingly expanding into middle school. With a mission to accelerate educational equity, Saga operates through two core models: Direct, which deploys trained AmeriCorps tutors into classrooms, and Consult, which equips districts with the tools and training to deliver tutoring themselves. Saga’s impact is backed by multiple RCTs showing gains in GPA, test scores, and math confidence. In Chicago, where it maintains a strong decade-long partnership with CPS, Saga’s model reaches over 10,000 students annually and demonstrates promising outcomes for Black and brown students. The organization is led by an experienced executive team, supported by a maturing board, and operates with strong financial health, robust data infrastructure, and a strategic vision for sustainable, scaled impact.
